Short list of Members-preferred/FullyOpen hacker groups and maker workshops which AFAICT are not [yet] directly listed within the above two references
Know for certain that at least one of these groups is planning an active presence at next weekend's Maker Faire in San Mateo, https://makerfaire.com/bay-area/

In past years, Sudo Room and Noisebridge used to have non-Ubuntu-connected events called "Installfests" whereby a bunch of people (but not just one or two!) would bring their portable machines to a central site that could more easily accommodate 'em with plenty of space to install Linux en masse.
Note that such "Installfests" were for several people at a time -- and not just intended for sole benefit of just one or two individuals ;-|
The Partimus organization, https://www.partimus.org/ , also has or had regular Installfest events whereby Ubuntu in particular is or was installed onto computers that were subsequently donated and set up for various San Francisco Bay Area schools.

Perhaps one or more of the four bulleted hacker/maker spaces will offer an Installfest event well after Maker Faire ends?

Anyone reading this should please feel free to add other hacker/maker spaces you know about in the Bay Area that are having Linux/Unix Installfests designed for two or more participants.

Thanks :-)
