At new location. The Sodoi Coffee house in the Durant/Channing parking structure mall.
It is easily wheelchair accessible (at least from the Channing side - I haven't checked the Durant side but I would expect it is also).
Very easy by bus as the 51 line stops right there.
Cafe has the standard high price pour over coffee. Which is decent. For munchies just a small collection of scones. And also they serve ice cream. Though I haven't tried it yet.
WiFi is good. Power is excellent!!! Outlets galore. 2 big central tables to spread out.
The music is sometimes a bit loud. Conversation level is low but that may be because it is vacation time.
Meeting at 11am Sunday the 19th.
Note that this is Father's day and also Juneteenth. Berkeley celebrates by shutting down Adeline by Alcatraz and MLK. So keep that in mind if traveling.
I just picked up an ASUS Chromebit cheap enough that I thought it'd be fun to play with.
It's a stick computer that plugs into a tv or monitor like Roku. According to the Arch wiki it can run
Linux. An Arm cpu, Rockchip I believe with 1 GB ram and maybe 32gb storage. It has a single USB port so I will need a powered USB hub. We'll see how it goes.
Also on offer (not free this time, sorry) a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15IML05, i3-10110U Gen 10/8GB RAM/256GB M.2
It has the HD (1366x768) touchscreen which I don't like. I prefer at least FHD.
I'm thinking like $250, well maybe $200
I think an FHD screen can be installed but I'm just too busy to mess with that.
See you there, Thomas
