I had some trouble earlier with a ram upgrade on my Thinkpad.
I think maybe I just needed it to sit for a bit on first boot with
much larger ram. I think the upgrade was at a regular LUG
meeting and I got frustrated. Anyways apologies to Rick Moen who
was on-line and my only working machine was a Pi laptop with a
bluetooth headset. I couldn't figure out how to get bluetooth to
see a headset with mic instead of just a speaker.
Last LUG Aaron was messing with a Chromebook that he found.
I'd be interested to know of any updates on that. The week before
I'd seen Peter Mui at Circuit Launch for the Robo-car races and he
mentioned schools have piles of chromebooks that they just throw
away because they are outside of support. Anyways I have put Linux
on a chromebook before and it works pretty well though the
hardware tends to be underpowered.
Also I have looked into GPS a little after a comment from Bob.
When I was web searching I didn't know what that was called and happened onto
Back before the pandemic the Robocar race had an outside event and the cars
used an augmented GPS which I now think was probably like that RTK.
Sorry for the late message. Just rely on Pi Berkeley meeting happening no matter
what every third Sunday. Even when I was in Portugal Michael was there (thanks Mike) and I was connected on-line from Porto, Portugal.
See you there, Thomas
