I have been using the Lenovo x204 and like it a lot. Good key feel, excellent display and unbelievable battery life (they claim 19 hours, I have not tried it that long but it lasts 8 hours with light work (internet and word processing) with a lot of battery left over. I am getting used to Mint (my old Lenovo was on Ubuntu) and I think I like it. I have lots of learning to do. The one Linux program I have not found is a good speech to text, but I need to look some more.
As Aaron noted, this meeting conflicts with the Solano Stroll, an event I have attended for 20 years. I will be in the AC Transit mini-bus in the parade, then staffing the AC Transit booth, so I will miss the BLug meeting. I'll see you in 2 weeks.

Timely reminder of the second Berkeley Linux User Group meetup of the month.

The consensus from the last meetup is that the in-person physical meetup will be at Caffe Strada as opposed to the fairly noisy (and student-packed) SoDoI Coffeehouse now that Cal's Fall Semester has already begun.

Chris P was able to successfully pick up the older-generation Lenovo ThinkPad X240 at the last meetup, and it's hopefully getting some good use :-)
The next BerkeleyLUG meetup will be two weeks after this one, on 2023-09-10, and active BerkeleyLUG participant Tom L will presumably be back in town to join the meetup.
