isn't there a way to restrict it to members only?
also for spam in email, the moderator should moderate before approving
it. I'm a moderator for several google groups and it gets tons of spam
too.
spammers also write automated scripts to join the group to harvest
email so I make them answer a few question before approving their
membership. If its a script, then either there's no answer or it
contains garbage.
