Why are you surprised?  Professors give talks at other universities
all the time.

And speaking of time, while such talks are generally open to the
public, they're usually held at a time that's convenient for academic
communities.  Hence the 3pm time.  And since I'm down the block at
Drexel, I'm hoping to make this afternoon's talk. :)
