The 2nd Annual Agile Tour is This Thursday!
We know it may be hard to believe, but it's been a whole year since you signed up for the Philly edition of the Agile Tour.ÂWhat have you accomplished since last October? We'd love to see you again and hear your story.Â
Some of you have already signed up - this note will give you a taste of what to expect. For everyone else, please register by Wednesday at 3pm!
We're really excited about this year's Agile Tour. Hosted by Agile Philly with the generous sponsorship of VersionOne, we listened to your feedback and totally revamped the format.Â
Â
14 Sessions in Just 4 hours
We've lined up speakers from the 2010 Scrum Gathering, XP 2010 (11th Annual International Conference on Agile Software), and the Agile Alliance series of conferences. We've pulled from our own ranks, with members ofÂAgile PhillyÂlikeÂBonnie Aumann, David Bulkin, Andre Dhondt, Brian Donahue, Burkhard Duemler, Ravindar Gujral, Sebastian Hermida, Aman King, Audrey Troutt, Daryl Richter, and Prashant Srivastava stepping up to share what they know. And the keynote? None other than Jon Kern, a co-author of the Agile Manifesto.
Open Space Schedule, Open Space Code Jam
You make the schedule! Combining the principles of open space with bite-sized 24-minute time slots, you'll have a chance to rearrange the schedule for an optimal spread of topics in each of three rounds. You can even propose a talk or conversation you'd like to have when you arrive!
The provisional schedule will be live on the Agile Tour site, and will change as invited speakers self-organize. Speakers and attendees alike are encouraged to arrive promptly at 4pm on Thursday to make final revisions and proposals.
Developers! Along with tech sessions like "An Incremental Move to Continuous Integration", we'll also have space for a code jam. Bring your laptops!
Missing Sessions and Up-voted Re-runs
While there will be 3 rounds of original talks and conversations, we'll close with a special round of Re-runs and Missing Sessions. With so much going on, it's easy to feel like you've lost out on something. So, when you walk in you'll be given stickers to use to "up-vote" talks: while you may distribute your votes however you wish, the two sessions with the most dots will be given a second hearing.
Need more? Sometimes you just didn't get a chance to talk about what you really wanted to hear, so propose a missing session and see how the crowd decides.
Thanks to Our Sponsors
While our free conference is done to benefit the whole of the software community, there are those that step up fiscally to make these events possible. Our heartfelt thanks go toÂVersionOneÂfor sponsoring our event and provisioning us for the duration of the event.
