Re: Final A.I Winter Event - Support vector machines and T-shirts! (03/21/2013 6:30pm) |
TrevorYours,Hi all,
The sixth and final A.I. Winter event will be held on 03/21/2013 at 6:30pm at the Comcast Center in Center City Philly. This is it! We have had a great run and we are ending with a bang! We will be studying the very popular support vector machines, a hot subject in A. I. today. This final event is not to be missed!
We will be studying the paper that introduced support vector machines: "A training algorithm for optimum margin classifiers" by Boser, Guyon, and Vapnik.
As this is the final session, we will be handing out t-shirts with the A.I. Winter logo on them for FREE!!!Notes from the last session on "Learning in the presence of malicious errors" will be up soon at http://aiwinternotes.tumblr.com/. Thanks to Kinan Faham for taking them! Please read the paper beforehand, and come with questions. Remember, you don't have to understand the entire paper to participate. This event is all about communal learning. Please RSVP at Doodle.
Our event will be on the 45th floor of the the Comcast Center. Comcast Interactive Media will be covering pizza and soda for the event.
We'll have beer afterwards at Nodding Head. See you there!
