The call for papers is now open for Ruby East 2007, to be held September 27-28 in Philadelphia (USA). The conference features one day of intense, real-world tutorials followed by a jam-packed day of sessions across multiple tracks. We expect this year's event to be the largest Ruby conference on the East Coast. ** Topics & Format Accepted sessions and tutorials will be divided over several, simultaneous tracks covering both the Ruby programming language and the popular Ruby on Rails application framework. Appropriate topics include: - Introductions to Ruby, Rails, Rake, RubyGems and other key technologies practical how-tos on the development, tuning and hosting of Ruby applications - Introductions to interesting Ruby projects and tools (e.g. RSpec, Radiant) - Deep technical dives on Ruby features or the internals of innovative projects - Case studies of large-scale, real-world Ruby and/or Rails deployments - Wildcard topics that Rubyists may find interesting (e.g. Erlang, Scala, security) Tutorials may be either 90 minutes or 180 minutes. Conference sessions are limited to 60 minutes, which should include at least 10 minutes for questions and discussion.
