Rubyologists:
I've got official word of our reservation at Drexel University for Monday, February 25th. That's a week from today! So clear your schedules and RSVP to
organizers@phillyonrails.org as soon as you can. RSVPing gets you on the list for give-aways.
So far, no on volunteered to speak. So I'm preparing a talk about Merb. And unless someone else volunteers to speak, that will be it. Our second lecture can just be some discussion, I suppose. Email me off-list if you're interested.
Location:
Drexel University, Patten Auditorium (Room 109)
Matheson Hall (32nd and Market Streets)
Agenda:
6 PM - Early bird meet-up / beginners
We like to make sure every one attending has enough of a background in Ruby/Rails to understand the evening's discussions. So come earlier if you want some informal discussion about what is Ruby, Rails, etc. Or if you need help on something -- there's often more advanced users there early, too.
7 PM - Colin Bartlett speaking about Merb
Colin Bartlett is me. And Merb is another MVC framework written in Ruby. So I'll be speaking about what Merb is, how to get up and running on it, what it's good for, what it's not, etc.
8 PM - Someone else who has yet to volunteer, or an open discussion.
If no one volunteers, I'll lead a discussion about whatever I feel like talking about. Which may or may not be Ruby related and may or may no be interesting to anyone.
See you there!
Colin
PS: PubNite is tonight. I'll be there by 6 PM. Most don't arrive till after the official 7 PM start. But there's never much official about PubNite: just whoever wants to come and eat and drink and talk geek, come on out.
Colin A. Bartlett
