SEATTLE, Washington (CNN) -- An earthquake with a preliminary
magnitude of 6.2 that struck Seattle, Washington, on
Wednesday was also felt as far away as Portland, Oregon.

Witnesses in Seattle said the ground shook for about 45
	seconds.

"Everybody just started running ... because we were just
scared," a witness told KIRO television in Seattle. The
station broadcast pictures of broken windows and people
	running out of tall buildings.

"It felt like a football field was just rolling and it was
back and forth ... but it was freaky," said another unnamed
	KIRO witness.

There were no reports of injuries.

Guesstimates were that it was about 3.5 in downtown Vancouver. Strong
enough to feel. Not strong enough to shake the pictures from the walls.
