Hi All! At last night's meeting reference to the Forbe's article about IBM's deal with Apache met with general interest. The online version of the article can be found at: http://www.forbes.com/forbes/98/0810/6209094a.htm Of further interest may be this well-written piece from this month's issue of Software magazine about Linux: http://209.101.48.92/Sept98/sm098cv.htm finally, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the articles of Ellen Ullman written under the title "The Dumbing-Down of Programming." which describes this programmer's flight from the push-button programmer's world of Windows to a new operating system. The section on Linux which I reference here is not the best part of the piece. Be sure to read the article from the beginning as well as some of her other work, referenced on the page. http://www.salonmagazine.com/21st/feature/1998/05/13feature2.html Hope you enjoy them as much as I did. joe
