Some of you guys mentioned that Compaq partition... I have deleted it
and lived! :-)
If you DO delete the BIOS setup partition, you can download a couple
files from their web site that will let you create 2 boot floppies that
have the software you need. And some minor POST/BIOS operations (like
autodetecting new HD's) are done on the motherboard. But if you need to
do anything fancy, you gotta get these floppies or boot from that stupid
Compaq partition. (Which by now most of us would have reclaimed for
ext2!) heh
