Thats because your not supposed to run those "stable" versions.  The
"non-stable" are just as stable as Redhat6, infact developer releases of
Debian should be more updated then Redhat is (as it uses developer releases
instead of stable ones).  If you wanna be cutting edge either update your
Debian or goto freshmeat.net download a few tarballs and have a
compile-fest. :)
