[Plug] speechd (implementation of /dev/speech) released
|
For those of you who weren't at the meeting & don't watch freshmeat:
speechd implements a /dev/speech device (all plaintext written to it will
be spoken aloud) using either the Festival or rsynth speech synthesis
packages (both free). An ircII (Internet Relay Chat) script (speech.irc)
has been created, and a Slashdot ticker (slashes) has been modified to
make use of this device.
