I hadn't had a reply yet. Can anyone provide a 2 or 3 line simple example?
Thanks.

I'm new to Expect. The man pages have some advanced (to me) examples and
I'm stuck on top-dead-center. Can someone provide a _real_real_ simple,

Yours,
Tom

for controlling input in a deterministic way, you can either try
shell redirection (which you may have said you don't want), or try
expect.
shell redirection (often called plumbing): < > |
as far as doing this for a GUI app, I'm not aware of any linux tools
for doing this, but I'd be surprised if they didn't exist.
