Last weekend I installed LinuxPPC on my 300mhz blue-n-white, and it's
not half bad. I don't know much about Linux benchmarking but it
completes a SETI work unit in 11 hours (versus 19 hours under Mac OS
8.6).
Not that this is relevant to colleges, but at least it's Linux-related :-)
