I read today in 'Linux Unleashed' second edition - which covers Red Hat 5.2 - that the kernel is configured to not allow any experimental code to operate with in it. You can change this kernel option to allow experimental code, but the default is no experimental code. I am wondering if this is the cause of the Java problems. Is Java still experimental and if not did anyone tell the kernel? > adam wrote: > > > > 4.7 still explodes on me, but I didn't use the rpm.... > > > > From what I have been hearing the 4.7 tar ball is so riddled with bugs > that some are saying that it should never have been released. > > _______________________________________________ > Plug maillist - Plug@lists.nothinbut.net > http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug > --------------------------------------------- This message was sent using Voicenet WebMail. http://www.voicenet.com/webmail/ _______________________________________________ Plug maillist - Plug@lists.nothinbut.net http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug
