WRT: Getting it working there are a few things you will want to check.... 1. Do you have a proper cable? If the cable is not IEEE certified, it may have issues, backpack devices are VERY picky about this. Also, make sure it is the cable it wants. some have pins switched and the like. 2. Ensure the proper Parallel port is setup ecp/epp/bi-directional, etc. Another grand issue I have seen screw things up. Good luck... And to all on the list, I am pretty much a lurker, but have posted once or twice... prolly see more of me in the future (maybe even at a non-wednedsday meeting ;)... But to all, I wish you: ____________________________________________ | _ _ _ _ _ _ _ |_ | |_||_||_)|_)\_/ |_|| || | | \|_|\_/(_`| | | | | || || | | | ||_||_ | |_/| | | ._). | | |____________________________________________| | |____________________________________________| (best viewed with a fixed-width font) -----Original Message----- From: plug-admin@lists.nothinbut.net [mailto:plug-admin@lists.nothinbut.net]On Behalf Of Greg Weber Sent: Wednesday, December 22, 1999 9:17 PM To: plug@lists.nothinbut.net Subject: [Plug] Micro Solutions CD Writer Anyone use a Micro Solutions "Backpack" CD Writer with Linux? It connects on the parallel port. From what I can tell it seems to not be supported. Not that I have not been able to get it to work under Win 98.
