Hows traffic supposed to get there? Thats a different network that is maked out by your subnet mask. You need to route add -net or something. Check the NET-3-HOWTO and look for -net. I think the problem is, you're specifying a gateway that you dont have a route to. Unless youcant ping the interface at all. But I'm not there. I have no idea.
