Sweet!

It appears I have smtpmail as part of my regular emacs
distribution. If you want to see the code, look at
/usr/share/emacs/20.4/lisp/mail/smtpmail.el. (How did I find this
file? M-x find-grep-dired, of course <g>). I could also have done C-h
f (describe-function) on smtpmail-send-it, which might actually have
been quicker.

It would be nice if this was documented in the vm info pages, but vm
is mostly for reading mail, so I guess that explains it.

BTW thanks to everyone who came to the emacs talk last night for
putting up with a little disorganization... emacs is so large, it's a
bit difficult to know what to leave out.
