Re: [PLUG] kernel panic post addemdum

I think that the 'not syncing' message refers to the kernel not syncing the
disk before it halts.

Sounds like you need to dredge through your NIC driver -- I'll bet you're
running off the end of your buffer list at some point.

Good luck!

Subject: [PLUG] kernel panic post addemdum

|I am also getting this in my dmesg, could this have something to do with
|the kernel panic.

|
|Also does the fact that 'interrupt handler is not syncing' indicate a
|hardware problem? How do i debug?
|
|I have a linux firewall hooked up to my @home cable modem at home. It is RH
|6.2 standard server install. i am using IP masquerading with a private net
|192.168.1.xxx.
|My problem is this, when ever I move substantial amount of info thru the
|firewall (download something big), or even if i try to ftp something big
|off the firewall to one of my network machines i get this error.
|I can ftp down large files from the internet to my firewall without
problem.

|Aiee, killing interrupt handler
|Kernel panic, Attempted to kill the idle task!
|In interrupt handler - not syncing
|Then my machine locks up and all i can do is power it down and up. Any
|ideas? Help!
