ALSA tends to have a driver module (probably snd-ens1371 or snd-card-ens1371 in your case) and a bunch of related higher-level support modules, plus the core stuff like snd and soundcore. If it works and fails, I'd verify IRQ settings and then go after ALSA to see if it's the latest driver or if there are any known problems in that driver. > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > --------------- > > Module Size Used by > snd-pcm-oss 18720 0 (autoclean) > snd-pcm-plugin 15024 0 (autoclean) [snd-pcm-oss] > snd-mixer-oss 5120 0 (autoclean) [snd-pcm-oss] > r128 88800 1 > agpgart 22720 3 (autoclean) > snd-card-ens1371 2224 0 > snd-ens1371 10528 0 [snd-card-ens1371] > snd-pcm 31808 0 [snd-pcm-oss snd-pcm-plugin snd-ens1371] > snd-timer 9360 0 [snd-pcm] > snd-rawmidi 10176 0 [snd-ens1371] > snd-seq-device 4032 0 [snd-rawmidi] > snd-ac97-codec 25088 0 [snd-ens1371] > snd-mixer 24576 0 [snd-mixer-oss snd-ens1371 snd-ac97-codec] > snd 34512 1 [snd-pcm-oss snd-pcm-plugin snd-mixer-oss > snd-card-ens1371 snd-ens1371 snd-pcm snd-timer snd-rawmidi snd-seq-device > snd-ac97-codec snd-mixer] > soundcore 3760 5 [snd] > autofs 10960 1 (autoclean) > parport_pc 18576 2 (autoclean) > lp 5296 0 (autoclean) > parport 25056 2 (autoclean) [parport_pc lp] > mousedev 4160 0 (unused) > hid 11728 0 (unused) > input 3328 0 [mousedev hid] > usb-uhci 23040 0 (unused) > usbcore 48944 1 [hid usb-uhci] > nfsd 68144 0 (autoclean) > ipv6 157792 -1 (autoclean) > 3c59x 25088 1 (autoclean) > ipchains 35424 0 (unused) > reiserfs 157200 6 > -- Kevin Brosius ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
