Quotes
from AMD's site:

* AMD and Microsoft collaborated during the development of Windows XP to
ensure
that AMD processors are well-suited for the operating system.

* Innovative AMD processors are the keys to unlocking fantastic Windows XP
computing experiences.

Then there's Office XP. The name suggests seamless integration and stability
if
installed on Windows XP. It's all in the marketing.
