I'm still at 2.1.1 but have experienced many graphical glitchs with the 810 chipset with 2.0.X and 2.1.x version of kde(before my move to testing and recent kernel. My problems where not just with KDE but they were more obvious under KDE. (stayed with enlightenment for a while cause of the issues) You sure your only getting artifacts in kde 2.2? I ran under the assumption of an issue with X11.
