Another chapter in the continuing font saga... last you heard from our hero, he was able to compile and install the KDE app KFontInstall, which, oddly enough, installs fonts! Running this program as root pretty much yielded the desired results, making a bunch of TT and PS fonts available. However, our hero soon realized that these fonts would only be available with a root login to KDE. When logging in as the normal user, he discovered that only a minimal few fonts were available through KDE's look&feel->font utility. This is the case even when our hero installs the same fonts with Kfontinstaller himself (non-root) to a user font directory. So is it a permissions problem? a config problem? a KDE problem? what is keeping these obviously installed fonts from being available system wide (easily). FYI: RH7.2, KDE2.2.1 (manual build and install), XFS (x font server). Any help is appreciated. thanks Chris ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
