RE: [PLUG] Samba and distributed authentication


i think winbind is only with 2.2.2 and newer (so you have to have the
absolute latest).  I don't know much about how it works, but, I think that
you have to have ACL compiled into your kernel (bunch of patches and such)
and then compile samba wih ACL.

I'm not sure how winbind works, I have never used it, I have been running
2.2.1a for 70-80 days straight without any troubles in it.

Isnt' WinBind integrated into Samba 2.2.x now? Won't
that take care of automated user stuff?
