Incoming mail is generally stored in /var/spool/mail/username or
/var/mail/username.  Pine keeps its folders in ~/mail.  Back up /home
(which you want to do anyway) and /var/mail or /var/spool/mail.  (Debian
uses the former, and the latter is a symlink to the former.)
