Even if Verizon already has an office near you, installing the DSLAMs and various other networking hardware is NOT cheap. And that says nothing of what it would cost DCA, Covad, or Speakeasy to connect that CO to their nearest POP. (DCA, obviously, and Speakeasy, thankfully, both have a POP in downtown Philly.
