A friend just sent this to me: ============================================================= Subject: computer won't stop? From: Spam Eater <nospam@...> Newsgroups: comp.os.linux.setup I am a Linux newbie, please help me ... I just installed Caldera Linux 2.3 on my computer, that is made up of the following parts: AMD K6-2 266, 64MG memory, floppy disk, 2 GB Maxtor IDE drive, When I ran Windows 95, everything ran normally. After about an hour, the machine would stop and I would go to bed for the night. But something's wrong with Linux, I think. It's been running for hours now, and I'm getting tired. Why won't the machine stop so I can sleep? I tried running Windows Explorer to stop it, because that works every time, but I can't find Explorer on the disk anywhere? -- Jim Foster - jif "at" computer .org http://www.voicenet.com/~jfoster "Being on a Beemer and not having a wave returned by a ICQ 679709 Sportster is like having a clipper ship's hailing not RAM 2500 Cummins returned by an orphaned New Jersey solid waste barge." -OTL '91 K100RS16V
