[PLUG] dvd troubles

I just got a shiny new dvd RW, but I'm having some troubles.

It is configured all ready and read and writes CD-RW's flawlessly so
all the kernel/system/hw stuff is in working order.

Here's the trouble:

when I go to write/blank a dvd-rw, I get an annoying message:

As the orange forum likes to get money for recent information,
it may be that this media does not use illegal manufacturer coding.

What's the orange forum embargo? Sounds really strange.

This is a brand new disk.

I left the vendor string in as well.

kernel is:

Linux xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 2.4.7-10smp #1 SMP Thu Sep 6 17:09:31 EDT 2001 i686 unknown

Whis is a stock rh kernel:

[root@gall] ~> cdrecord --version
Cdrecord 1.11a23 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2002 Jrg Schilling

This is fairly new and is supposed to support dvds.

Someone please help.

Thanks for reading this far. :)
