On Saturday I had built a new PC. The next day the power supply died. I assumed it just failed the 24 hour burn in. But, one thing I do notice is that the power supply is hotter than it is in my older systems, even after I replaced the blown supply. I have one Athlon 600 and had one Duron 700. The power supplies stayed cool. Now, with an Athlon XP 1800+ the power supply is pretty hot. Could the CPU make that much of a difference in power usage? Are my power supplies crap?
