Consider isolating the problem down to the linux box only. Use smbclient to connect to your the shares on linuxbox. This might help tell you where things are going wrong. Remember that when calling smbclient, use forward slashes to specify the share path, or else bash will do funny replacements on your backslashes. I.E. smbclient //linuxbox/alex Michael F.
