I put in http://(ssh hostname) : 8000 for the http > proxy setting. Am I missing anything else? Should I change something? For console-based programs, set $http_proxy to the proper URL. (By way of illustration, "http_proxy=http://proxy.host.example:8000/"; export http_proxy".) See also $ftp_proxy and $gopher_proxy. For graphical programs, of course, use their configuration menus. (For example, "Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Proxies" in Mozilla.) BTW, you may want to consider not using Junkbuster. It doesn't have support for HTTP 1.1, which can cause certain problems with certain browsers (Mozilla, for example, which may not have a way to change to HTTP/1.1, depending on the options enabled for the build you have of it). More details: <http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38488> and <http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90673>. You may want to consider using Privoxy instead -- it's a fork of the last released version of Junkbuster with new features (like HTTP 1.1) added and bugs fixed and such. <http://www.privoxy.org/> -- Bill Jonas * bill@billjonas.com * http://www.billjonas.com/ "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin Attachment:
