Re: [PLUG] DirecTV DSL & Linux



DirecTV actually has two distinct types of modems available. The small 
blue ones are hated by DirecTV's tech support. One tech told me that they 
are absolutely horrible to do any sort of troubleshooting with.

My personal experience with them (the company) has been very good. I've
only had one bad experience with their tech support. It took me close to a
week to convince them that the original router they had sent me had gone
bad. (Not really their fault. They were seeing it up at their end.)

I have always set up the modems (I've had three since I started with 
them) with a linux box and a web browser. The last time I just hooked it 
up to my gateway and did the configs over my network.
