Both Dells that I have use a NVIDIA card, and X didn't work for me either. NVIDIA has drivers for their cards at their site: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=linux_display_ia32_1.0-4191 If you aren't using a stock kernel you'll need to compile your own using the NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.src.rpm at the end of the page. Their instrutions to do this are in their pdf on the page. I also have more info that I found helpful here: http://linuxnotes.net/wiki.pl?LapTops Jon -- Trooper Jon S. Nelson, Linux Certified Admin.
