Is that with Speakeasy?

I called our state revenue department, and they advised me to request a written explanation of these charges from Speakeasy. Our Sales tax is 6%, so maybe your provider is eating some of it, but Speakeasy billed it to me at 9.25% for Sales and 7.7 GRT. Looking at the Gross Receipts tax info, I still don't know what to think (the published rate is a charge of 50 mills, but that doesn't make any sense to me). Also, Gross Receipts tax is a tax levied on a company- not a person. It seems that they're getting taxed and just passing it on to me?

Speakeasy is looking into it. The CS rep told me that they don't charge me the tax, that the gov't does- brilliant if you ask me. However- it comes on their invoice from their system, so I want them to verify that they're not wrong.

Thanks for your insight,
