Heh. Interesting, considering the XF86 4 driver for the chipset in
the 760s is broken (can't do DMA in the embedded version, so it
totally hoses the screen), so I've been forced to stick with XF86 3
there.

The T21 I had used an S3/Savage. The newer T's use a mobile radeon, like the X series.

On a sort of related note, if you don't already have the T22, and don't
need to always have the optical drive, consider the X23. I ran RH8 on
one for a while before selling it, and loved it. Amazingly light and
great battery life. Smallish screen (12.1"), but still looked great at
1024x768. It used a Radeon 7000 for the video, so it always looked
great. I also ran Gentoo on it for a while, and that worked well too.

Hrm. I do see a T23, but it's got a 14.1" TFT:

Yes, all of the T series have 14.1". The X has the 12.1".

Also, unless I'm mistaken, the X series lacks the main reason I want
the laptop (over my 760s): three mouse buttons. (As near as I can
tell, only the 600s and T{21..23}s have that.)

The X23 that I had did indeed have 3 buttons...

Here's one on eBay (sold by ibm direct)

That's a nice one -- 256MB RAM/30G drive/integrated WLAN/integrated ethernet/modem
