Oh, BTW, regarding my general comment about storage methods and theory; 
I would not, and I don't think anyone would ever, try to serve data off 
of tape for Internet-based access.  The think the default time-out for 
PHP scripts is 30 seconds.  Even 30 seconds is a long wait in Web terms.
