BNC is a common connector type, but from what I have read, BNC connectors cause more signal loss at microwave frequencies than SMA, TNC, or N connectors. It isn't hard to find SMA, TNC, and N connectors. It /is/ difficult to find reverse polarity or reverse threaded connectors, which tends to be used on wireless equipment to discourage "enhancements". However, if you go to http://www.fab-corp.com and tell them that you are a member of... What is it? ...netstumbler.com, you can get the connectors and a discount. They also sell LMR cable which causes less signal loss than RG cable.

Anything that doesn't already have an external antenna connector can be hacked to accomodate a connector!
