Anybody like the D-Link RDI-614+ wireless router? Looks like a good
deal over at ecost.com. Nice rebate on the refurbished model running at
the moment, $69 - $40 in rebates. Plus it's a 4 port switch. Anyone
have one of these?

I don't like my D-Link router. It's a slightly older model. If I were going to buy a new router I would shop for a Linksys.

When the hard drive in my check point firewall[1] recently went off to the big bit bucket in the sky, rather than buying another drive and resurrecting it, I got one of those groovy Linksys BEFVP41 boxes. Very nice, and has built-in IPsec. I was able to (literally) setup a VPN connection from my PowerBook (OS X uses KAME) in about 3 minutes. Linksys also has some decent docs on doing the same with Windoze. Doing the same with Freeswan should also be equally simple.

[1] Yes, I was running Check Point NG FP3 at home until recently.
