Re: [PLUG] telephony

I want to plug a phone line into my modem, and be able
to call my computer and have it record my voice. Does
anyone know of any programs that will do this? Or
better yet, maybe a library? It would be an
interesting programming project!

If you want the equivalent of a telephone answering machine, there is VOCP and TKVoice. Both require installation of Mgetty/Vgetty, but if your modem is capable of dealing with voice and isn't a winmodem, it will work. There are PCI modems that will work with Mgetty, but I don't remember which work or don't work. If you have an external or an ISA hardware modem, the programming is already done.
