Position Senior Software Engineer (Java) We have a newly-created opportunity in our Bala Cynwyd, PA office for a talented Senior Software Engineer (Java) to work on developing an extensive server-side API for our enterprise application suite. As a member of an energetic, performance-oriented, and highly interactive team, the candidate will have the opportunity to be successful developing using agile methodologies (e.g., SCRUM) while learning techniques for effective collaboration and iterative development. The ideal candidate must have a related BA/BS, at least 6 years experience programming in OO languages and at least 4 years experience in Java development. Excellent design skills, with a strong background in XML and SQL are required. Experience with Web services and C# is a plus. The ideal candidate is good at both high and low-level design with a demonstrated ability to plan and design complex server systems along with creating technical design documents. The successful candidate learns quickly, absorbs new information with ease, can comfortably incorporate new technologies into his/her skill set, and is willing to work outside of his/her role by assisting with design, testing, and documentation when necessary. The successful candidate must have strong analytical talents and problem solving skills in order to anticipate problems; suggest and assess multiple alternative solutions; troubleshoot and debug code. She/he must have well developed communication skills in order to communicate technical, business and design information to other members of the development team, including the use of object models and event diagrams. The senior software engineer can work independently with minimal supervision, collaborate with others and be a contributing member of a team.
