I have a few business printing needs now (business cards, brochures, and posters) and I'm looking for a commercial printing company that can take my linux-y files (postscript, I guess) and directly print them. There seems to be a heavy emphasis in the "reprographics" world towards Adobe Illustrator and Pagemaker, and many of the printing companies require files in those formats or else charge to (presumably) take my postscript, open it in Illustrator, and print it from there. So my question is: Has anybody had experience with a printing company that can print directly from postscript? (The ideal thing would be if I could print directly, over the net, and pay for the output when I go pick it up.) (I know, I know... Why can't I just use my 1200 dpi inkjet output and be happy? Well, we're going to our first conference and we need (a) a few large format things and (b) a glossy one page flier with photos.)
