Re: [PLUG] hardware or software problem?

The monitor is 17" Gateway Vivitron 17 (Sony Trinitron).

The video is onboard Intel 82810E DC-133.

Subject: [PLUG] hardware or software problem?

My monitor has taken to flashing on and off (and increasingly more off than on during boot ups and shutdowns (run level 3?). The problem does not occur at run level 5 (X). This is a dual boot (triple if you count a never used windows partition that I keep in case bios level repairs and upgrades require it) system and the problem occurs with both distros. That leads me to believe that it is hardware based, but would that occur only in character mode?
