[PLUG] GLIB problems

Hello, PLUGgers. Thanks to Mike Leone for telling me about this list.

My question is this. I'm trying to install the XMMS multimedia player on my Mandrake 10.0 desktop, w/limited success. Each time, it tells me that I need to install GLIB 1.2.2 or better.

So, I installed GLIB 1.2.9. But ./configure for XMMS told me that I actually had 1.2.10 installed. So, I tried to install GLIB 1.2.2- same result.

I suppose the problem is that I need to remove the old version of glib entirely before I can install the new version. But how do I do that? I looked around for glib directories, and found quite a few- and I don't think that removing each one individually would be a wonderful idea.

	Any help?
