From what I can see it shouldn't be hard to get halftones, but what I've tried hasn't worked. I'm pasting in a simple example that doesn't work for me, wondering if anybody's got a tip. Nobody's replied to my post, which I guess is an indication that is was a little to far off topic. Sorry about that. From my further digging, I am getting the impression that the basic problem is that the halftones I'm looking for will only appear when the file is actually output-ed on a device that can't make grays. I thought I'd be able to check the output first on a gray scale device and see dots of varying sizes, but apparently that's not right.
