I upgraded from 2.4 to 2.6 today. Now my compact flash reader doesn't
work. That is, the device doesn't work:

Do you get anything logged to /var/log/messages (or its equivalent) if
you tail it while plugging in and/or turning on the device?

Or better yet, turn on verbose debugging for USB (CONFIG_USB_DEBUG) and USB storage (CONFIG_USB_STORAGE_DEBUG) and look in /var/log/kern.log and/or /var/log/debug

/var/log/messages doesn't get nearly as much detail.
