I used to use pilot-link and jpilot and never had any problems. In fact, I found the features of the command line pilot-sync more versatile and superior to Palm's HotSync. However, I switched my distro from Red Hat 7.3 to Ubuntu Warty. Warty is Debian based, and I rely on apt-get and Synaptic for upgrades and installations. By default, Warty installs gnome-pilot instead of pilot-link and evolution instead of jpilot. These "newer" apps tend to trash my address book (thank goodness for Sony's MS Backup). Has anyone had a similar experience? Is the problem gnome-pilot, the evolution conduits, or both? If it is the latter, has anyone had experience with how to remove them and replace them with the default conduits that jpilot uses? Frankly, I only use the desktop app for alarms (which is one of the few evolution things I use). I'd like to keep the alarm functionality for the calendar module, and possibly use the address book as an alternative email address book. (I'm currently using Thunderbird for email; mozilla used to have a Palm address sync.) Any suggestions? -- _______________________________________ Art Alexion Arthur S.
