are you using a local mirror that might not have been updated yet, by any
chance?

libc6 is part of the glibc source package, so you can go here:

http://packages.qa.debian.org/glibc

(you can can actually go do libc6, but it will redirect you to the other page)

i find these qa pages really useful.  when i'm looking to choose between
a couple packages that i don't know much about, i'll usually compare the
upload activity and the number of open bugs between the packages by
using these pages.
